Dead hang - 20 (chin above bar)
Kipping - 20 (strict C2B)
Jumping - 1:05
So many people this morning we had to go in SEVEN HEATS... or did we go individually becuase there was only seven of us?
14/26/2:26
Brad - 100 JPU with no break was impressive!
Larry's Friend (sorry, I didn't get your name) - 1st time kipping pull-ups were equally impressive!
20 or 21 dead hang
35 kipping w/ only chin over bar
2:18 on the jumping pull ups
Patrick - Theres a good workout at this place called Crossfit Dallas Central. Maybe you should check it out.
Casey - the first two sets are max reps without dropping.
Jacquelyn - lol
Sam Z - I didn't see anyone reply to the post yesterday so I watched it last night. I'm going to return it to Sam II as soon as I see him again. Maybe he wouldn't mind if I just hand it off to you.
Sam II - When will you be back at the gym?
Guys and Gals - Be sure to post your reps completed. We will be putting the top scores from this wod on the board. You know you want to see your name up there.
Pat - I didn't know you did Crossfit Endurance? I've wanted to start doing that once a week, can we chat sometime at the gym! I talked to Victoria briefly about doing it too, maybe we could make our own Crossfit Endurance class... haha
Going to Crossfit in Iowa City tommorrow... I'll be sure to let them know how their gym is inferior, in intricate detail
yes jacquelyn, i just started and will be implementing some swimming. starting slow so i dont burn myself out too quickly. kat, vic, myself and a couple of others have talked about meeting for some laps on sunday before the sunday workout.
Neal and Sam Z. - I'll be in the gym at noon today. Sam Z. - if you want to get the video from Neal and watch it over the weekend that is cool with me! I will be leaving town tomorrow for the 4th.
Koy/Sam - I have a projection system, if someone has a DVD computer we can hook it up to the projection system and watch the movie on the white board next week as a CFDC Family - Thursday work? Let me know.
anyone interested in creating some type of weekend warrior CFDC team? find some saturday morning league to play some type of sport....basketball, flag football, something
Pat, I was thinking more about running than swimming... I sink lol, I know the strokes but my form is subpar and I'm just not built for swimming lol, but I'd be down to experiment!
Mark- I'd be intersted to know what the CFE cycling is like, do u use a stationary bike?
Excited about this workout - Pullups are my biggest weakness, so I'll get some headway on that today.
Mel - Great Idea! I can bring a computer but don't have great speakers
Sam II - thanks. I will get with Neal.
Neal, no hurries. Let me know when you are through with it and I will watch it that night and bring it back to II.
Mel I could bring my laptop in if that would work, I think it's a great idea.
Jacquelyn, if you have a bike it's best to just buy a trainer. Stationary bikes are ok, but it's so much better if you can use your own so that you can shift gears on your bike and work with your riding position.
Quick Zone Diet Questions:
1. Can fish oil pills count as a fat serving?
2. Almonds and other nuts are high in fat, but also have some carbs and protein. Do I count these?
3. Eggs - yolk or no yolk?
btw...I'm on day 3 of following the zone diet and still need to learn a lot.
Faith is pretty much right. I've got a trainer that I use most of the time for intervals. As much as I hate using it, it's still better than dealing with traffic when you can barely see straight!
That said, if you have the big bucks to shell out for a *real* stationary bike, those are super nice. You can adjust them so they match your regular setup exactly. Like one of these: http://www.saris.com/p-315-pro-300pt.aspx mmmmmm I want.
If I'm doing a TT WOD I like to head to WRL (I live about 3 miles away) super early or really late when there's not a lot of pedestrian traffic.
Bobby, I'm in. As I told Sammy the other night, I was a varsity wrestler in high school (you think I'm slender now....I wrestled the 103# weight class my freshman year), so mud wrestling would be cool....orrrr, uh, softball, flag football, dodgeball, etc.
Dragon Sam Z - I'll bring the dvd tomorrow am. I think I might watch it a second time :)
Koy - Rules clarification. Can we come to a second class and try to beat our own pull up number?
Faith, thanks that's good to know but I'm not looking to make that kind of investment right now, besides,I don't even have a bike worth putting on a trainer, the bike I have now, I've had since middle school, it's a hybrid road/mountain bike and weighs like 40lbs lol, I've got my eye on a nice carbon though!
I wanna watch the movie on Thursday!!
Jacquelyn - not exactly CFE, but if you're interested in distance running, the Dallas Running Club has a super low-cost distance training program (fall program starts next week), complete with coaches and pace groups. I'm planning on working it in with CF, along with some CFE workouts for swim/bike.
Carin - thanks but I can't make anymore group/time commitments, currently maxed out with my volunteer, school, work, and CPA certification, maybe in a year or so I'll get back to you on that!
Jacquelyn - gotta start with something! My first real mountain bike was an absolute tank and I beat it up every ride. Replaced broken parts with downhill parts so it probably ended up close to 35lbs. :) My bikes now are a lot nicer but I still regret selling that one! I'm too worried about breaking something now to have fun jumping off stuff haha.
I have a friend that does triathlons on a mountain bike. I have no idea how she does it, but she's probably in much better shape than those of us that use road/TT bikes. I'd love to get something I could use on trails, although I think that could be a disaster, I'm a hazard on pavement as it is.
Mark- I have NO intention of selling this bike... it's like my first child lol, I ABSOLUTELY detest vehicles and this bike is a tank, I've laid it down pry over a 1000 times lol.
However, last weekend I was riding a Tarmec elite compact... I have been lusting since!
http://www.specialized.com/us/en/bc/SBCBkModel.jsp?spid=39251&eid=115
Faith- Yea my bike is kinda just a huge tease casue it doesn't have shocks! I need to work on that I think, cause it can do some trails but no real mountain biking
Yea, Wayne, I heard tomorrow's wod is actually FOUR wods in one day, so you should be all set.
Jer - Scott's third question was not a yes or no question.
Scott, I would eat the yolk unless you have high cholesterol. You can still get lean protein out of the egg whites, but the yolk has a lot more nutrients...and all the saturated fat/cholesterol.
I'm sure someone is about to disagree with me....To yolk or not to yolk!?
Oh sh*t....
I am playing in a golf boondoggle this afternoon that includes an evening of steaks and cards late into the night....
Also, in the Nooner class yesterday the heat was brutal, it was like a level of Dante's hell....
Brad - Nice work, especially with those 100 jumping pullups wow.
Bobby - Totally down for getting something like that together, I have been playing in all those leagues for years now so I can set one up for us.
What sport do we want? Softball, football, kickball? All of the above?
Looking forward to trying this one tonight, in the hell fire box!
G-rant- fortunatley I am in a business where I can entertain clients on the golf course, dinner etc....that being said I do feel fortunate...also, Peacock is a scratch golfer- I will get to witness that today. If you play let's go out sometime....
Can't wait to try tommorow hungover- I will be pounding Coconut juice tonight and tommorow.
Speaking of coconut water.
I grabbed some of the Goya brand at the store last week and it was kind of disgusting. What brands do you guys get? Is the taste supposed to make you question whether it has gone bad? Is coconut water what I'm supposed to get, or is it coconut juice, or coconut milk? Does the kind you get have little chunks of coconut floating around? Mine did. And are you supposed to make a weird face after you drink it? I did.
Let me know the deets on this miraculous water. or juice/milk.
Neal- here is the "one" I prefer and we buy it at Whole Foods or Central M, http://www.onenaturalexperience.com/. I prefer the blue box- just cocunt juice.
Stephen- hot profile pic...
Seems like Pat is still working with the same kind of impairment I am. Quote of the day by Sam: "You don't need your legs, pretend you're paraplegic."
Sam - thanks for hanging out and putting me through the tabata sit-ups. I remember when I started I was getting around 7/8 and I asked Mel how many she did. She said she tries to get 11 every round. Today my lowest was 11, highest was 14! Thanks for the pep talk too, Sam, always makes me smile and brings a tear to my eye :)
It was nice working out with the noon crew today. Thanks for the push Grant, Dee, Jamie, Dave, Wade.
Jamie - awesome work on getting way more pullups than you thought! and great working out with you today!
Sam Z - way to stick with it on that farmers run!
Looking at today's picture, you gotta love good ole Communist Dallas CrossFit. BTW, the blue one is me in my athletic stance ready to react at a moments notice.
Oh my gosh, Mel, I can't imagine running in those suits for a mile, let alone 10m. Wow!
Awesome job today, Sandy!!! Wow, 14! I would have joined you at noon except I stupidly followed the directions on my antibiotics bottle and took a pill on an empty stomach...not a good idea. :( Can't wait for my session with Erin later today! Definitely need some stress relief.
A fun Nooner today!
Dee- way to stick it to the jumping pull-ups, 79 unbroken FTW
Sandy- great job today, way to stick it out!

Grant, thanks for being a great partner. Sorry I disappointed you on the deadhangs and kipping, but pullups are just not my strong suit!! That said, I remember when I couldn't do any, not to mention chin to bar, so all is definitely good!! Have a great holiday weekend everyone!!
Neal - Vita Coco is the best brand, supper yummy! They always have it at WF and CM
Everyone else, have a kickin 4th (said in honor or my kickball aspirations lol) also, if anyone paintballs, I'm always down!
Dang Jacquelyn. You're down for paintball, kickball, soccer, and I'm pretty sure you mentioned mud wrestling earlier. You sould like the coolest chick ever.
Dean - what is the name of pizza place in Amarillo? We are headed out of town and travel takes us thru Amarillo. I know it is not Palio but still FTW!
Hope everyone has a fun safe 4th.
stephen: it got a new name - 575 pizzeria. used to be called basil doc's.

Noon class was awesome today. So inspiring to see all of you working hard! Dave - TWENTY-SIX kipping pull-ups for you!!! Like a boss. Sandy - you just have no quit in you, girl. You refused to give in to the ankle, and it was amazing.
Not sure I remember my number of dead-hang ones with the blue band - 9 or 10?
5 kipping
2:24 jumping
Wayne - my office is on dyer and saw you and Stephen doing yesterday's wod at noon. don't know how you guys did it in the heat. i attended at 7am and was dying in 80 degree weather.
1 "dead hang pull-up"; my knees came up a little but I was pretty excited to get up there without a band or a kip.
10 dead hangs with the red band.
3 kipping pull-ups; I need a lot of help on my form.
2:06 on the jumping.
I am working on that! Class is almost over! Thank God! The doctor said that it may take a week to start feeling better. So, it is now just resting and finishing up school! I took today completely off, and decided that I hate taking days off! Nothing to do!
Nooners - wow! Awesome group.
Wade - awesome as always
G-Rant - G-reat to finally meet you
Jack - solid...so solid in everything u did today
Stephen - thanks for picking the weights up for me on Dyer. Man I was leaking all over the place, broken back pack, broken spirit.....thanks.
Sandy - u rule thanks for the push
Lots to improve on
14 dead pulls
24 Kips
2:24 Jumps
I can't remember the 400 time...I think like 8 minutes with 40lb vest and 50lb backpack. That was murder.
I learned today that u don't go to the noon class thinking that it will be cooler than 6pm.
6 dead hang (with green band) & 15 kipping PU's
2:02 on 100 jumping
4 something on run with two 18 lb kb's...do the extra lb's I'm already carrying count for anything? :)
For reference sake:
8 dead hang, 9 kipping (both with thin white band)
Was surprised to actually have forearm failure be the limiter on these.
2:17 on the 100 jumping - bicep failure..

As Cave says: Ahhhhh yeahhhhh
All of these are C2B pull-ups, right?
These max rep pull-ups are without dropping from the bar, correct?
And Ant, this is for you: http://www.80stees.com/products/Feel-The-Power-Eastbound-and-Down-T-shir...
Happy Bon Jovi Friday!
The picture on the main website, I hated that excerise. We use to have to run in our bunker gear 1 mile... UGH!!!! Talk about HOT!!!!
Guys and Gals - Be sure to post your reps completed. We will be putting the top scores from this wod on the board. You know you want to see your name up there.
Jacquelyn - I've been doing 1-2 CFE cycling WODs a week for a little while as well. Definitely ass-kickers!
Speaking of cycling... TdF is imminent!!! Funny ESPN article about their 9000 calorie a day diets. Definitely not paleo: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=stein%2F090701
Today is my rest day but this WOD looks like fun. :( I'll have to make it up sometime soon.
Koy - what goes on the board Chest to Bar or Chin over Bar?
Koy/Sam - I have a projection system, if someone has a DVD computer we can hook it up to the projection system and watch the movie on the white board next week as a CFDC Family - Thursday work? Let me know.
Mel - Kipping chin above bar pullups
Bobby - YES. Kickball would be epic.
