Nutrition 101

We'll be holding a nutrition workshop January 16th, from 3-5pm, at CFDC. This is a practical introduction into the Paleolithic/Caveman model of nutrition. We'll be talking on the basics of macronutrients (protein, carbs, fats), the best places to purchase Paleo foods, and a few sample recipes. We'll follow the lecture with a Q&A directed by YOU. You choose the topics, we give the answers. We'll conclude the lecture and carpool for to Kozy Kitchen for dinner. This is the only restaurant in Dallas that serves Paleo foods (and Paleo friendly desserts!).

The lecture will be given by the CFDC coaching staff (including Coach Dean, MD, Masters in Nutrition).

If you've ever had any burning questions regarding the Paleo Diet and fueling as an athlete, then this is the lecture you need to be attending.

The cost is $50 (free for anyone currently attending the January On-Ramp).

Besides the trip to Kozy, will this workshop be covering new territory that we did not experience during the nutrition seminar in June?

Howard, a lot less science-you-don't-need-to-know-to-be-a-productive-athlete and a lot more practical know how. The best foods, the best preparation methods, the best ingredients, and more practical applications of the Paleo/Caveman model as an athlete. We'll also get warmed up with a little science behind the training we do (we want you to be at least informed and at best well versed).

I'm killing birds in Kansas that day. Will makes some pheasant jerky. Will that qualify as know how, preparation method and best ingredients.

I think so!

Sorry I'll miss. Somebody take some notes and hook me up. PLEASE

Hey this is a great opportunity for me to give you guys a Venison Update:

It has all been processed and is ready to go. I will be picking up the venison next week and will bring it by CFDC, likely, on Saturday (Jan. 16). If you ordered venison, please bring a check (made to Casey Kaplan, hunting badass) or cash with you that day....in fact, I will probably just come around 2:30 p.m. (if that's okay with Sam and Spencer) and deliver your venison prior to the nutrition seminar.

As a reminder: $25/pound for the venison jerky. $5/pound for the ground venison. I may have a little extra jerky for anyone who didn't place an order before.

If you need menu planning ideas you know where to find me.
For a price. Just kidding.

I love that the picture is "Eat Like a Caveman," and if you are Sam, Spencer, or Chase - you look like one too.

I went to Kozy after the workout today and it was great. I'll be out of town that weekend or else I would be in.
